After losing several pairs of Reading glasses our founder realized there must be a better way to keep them secure. If a pen can be secured in a pocket by a clip, why not glasses?
We experimented with different designs and materials and produced a prototype for what evolved into the Opti-Clip. When shown to others it was met with skepticism and ‘naysayers’. Some, believing that eyeglass frames could not be improved, likened the idea to an effort to reinvent the wheel.
Undaunted, we persisted and created a conventional frame with an inconspicuous and practical pocket clip. After further struggling through the rigorous Patent process we were awarded the first US Patent for eyeglasses with an integral pocket clip.
